MultiChoice Group, a CANAL+ company × FAME Week Africa Premium Drama Call for Projects

FAME Week Africa, in partnership with MultiChoice Group, a CANAL+ company, is calling on African producers to submit bold, original premium drama series with the potential to captivate audiences at home and travel across borders.

This is a dedicated commissioning opportunity, separate from the MIP Africa Project Pitch Platform, giving selected African producers the opportunity to pitch directly to representatives from MultiChoice Group, CANAL+ and STUDIOCANAL at FAME Week Africa 2026.

What Are We Looking For?

We're looking for African drama with ambition.

Projects should be:

  • Contemporary and high-concept
  • Commercially compelling
  • Action-driven
  • Rooted in authentic African stories
  • Built around strong, universal themes
  • Aspirational in their storytelling
  • Able to resonate naturally across two or more African territories

Stories may be told in any African language, English or French. Above all, we want storytellers to preserve the authenticity, culture and identity of their stories.

Format

Projects should be developed as premium drama series of approximately:

8–12 episodes × 50 minutes

Final episode numbers will be determined by the strength and needs of the creative concept.

Projects should demonstrate strong production ambition while remaining commercially viable, without relying on large-scale financing or complex international co-production structures.
