FAME Week Africa, in partnership with MultiChoice Group, a CANAL+ company, is calling on African producers to submit bold, original premium drama series with the potential to captivate audiences at home and travel across borders.
This is a dedicated commissioning opportunity, separate from the MIP Africa Project Pitch Platform, giving selected African producers the opportunity to pitch directly to representatives from MultiChoice Group, CANAL+ and STUDIOCANAL at FAME Week Africa 2026.
We're looking for African drama with ambition.
Projects should be:
Stories may be told in any African language, English or French. Above all, we want storytellers to preserve the authenticity, culture and identity of their stories.
Projects should be developed as premium drama series of approximately:

Final episode numbers will be determined by the strength and needs of the creative concept.
Projects should demonstrate strong production ambition while remaining commercially viable, without relying on large-scale financing or complex international co-production structures.
Your treatment must include:
Include an estimated budget for producing the proposed series.
The call is open to producers, production companies and rights holders based in Africa.
Applicants must be 18 years or older and must own or control the intellectual property rights required to submit the project.
All eligible projects will undergo an initial editorial review by the MIP Africa team.
Selected projects will be shortlisted and invited to pitch live at FAME Week Africa 2026 before representatives from MultiChoice Group, CANAL+ and STUDIOCANAL.
The live pitch forms part of the commissioning team's editorial evaluation process and does not guarantee that a project will be commissioned.
Shortlisted producers must be available to attend and pitch in person at: FAME Week Africa from 28–30 October 2026 at the CTICC2 |in Cape Town, South Africa
Applicants are responsible for their own travel, accommodation and associated costs.

This is a separate opportunity developed around a specific commissioning brief. If you have already submitted a project to the MIP Africa Project Pitch Platform and believe it meets this brief, we encourage you to submit it for consideration here too.
