Got a story Africa will want to watch?

MTN One TV are looking for bold, authentic and commercially viable African film and television projects created for youth and mass-market audiences.

We’re looking for stories that are locally rooted, universally resonant and have the potential to connect with audiences across African markets.

Shortlisted producers will pitch their projects live to MTN One TV at FAME Week Africa 2026 in Cape Town.

What Are We Looking For?

Projects should be:

  • Fresh and distinctive
  • Culturally authentic
  • Commercially viable
  • Relevant to contemporary African audiences
  • Able to resonate across African markets
  • Suitable for youth and mass-market audiences

The primary audience is 18–34-year-olds and mass-market consumers, with a focus on South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana and Zambia and broader Pan-African potential.

Formats

  • Limited Series — 6–8 × 45–60 minutes
  • Scripted Series — 13 × 45–60 minutes
  • Unscripted Series — 13 × 45–60 minutes
  • Micro-drama — 30 × approximately 2 minutes
  • Feature Film — 60–90 minutes

Genres include: Drama, Reality, Comedy, Action, Thriller, Romance and Animation.

Who Can Apply?

The Pitch Session is open to established African producers working through registered production companies.

Lead producers must have a minimum of seven years’ professional industry experience, a relevant production track record and the rights or authority to represent the submitted project.

What Do You Need to Submit?

You’ll need to tell us about your project, its audience, commercial potential, budget and financing, as well as your production company and lead producer.

You’ll also need a Google Drive folder containing:

  • Pitch Deck — maximum 12 pages
  • High-resolution project still or concept artwork
  • Production company logo
  • Lead Producer headshot(s)

What Happens Next?

A limited number of projects will be shortlisted to pitch in person to MTN One TV at FAME Week Africa 2026 in Cape Town.

Each shortlisted project will receive two complimentary FAME Week Africa accreditations. Travel and accommodation remain the responsibility of the participants.

Participation in the Pitch Session does not guarantee a commission, funding or commercial agreement with MTN One TV.
