STUDENT PITCHING
Got an idea for a film, television series or micro-drama?
FAME Week Africa and SAE Institute South Africa are looking for the next generation of storytellers — and your idea could be the one we're looking for.
The Student Pitching Competition & Bursary gives aspiring young creatives the opportunity to develop an original concept, receive industry mentorship and pitch live at FAME Week Africa 2026.
And there's a life-changing opportunity at stake.
The winning entrant will receive a bursary to study at SAE Institute's Cape Town campus in 2027, helping turn creative potential into the skills and experience needed to build a career in the creative industries. The specific SAE programme awarded will be determined following the final selection process, taking into consideration the winner's educational background, career aspirations and the programme best suited to their future studies.
We want your original idea for a:
We're looking for bold ideas, fresh perspectives and storytellers with something to say.
You don't need to have made a film before. You don't need industry connections. You need an original idea, a clear creative vision and the passion to bring it to life.
Submissions will be evaluated on creativity, originality, storytelling, clarity of vision, presentation, passion and the overall potential of the concept.
Up to five finalists will be selected by an independent panel of industry experts from FAME Week Africa and SAE Institute South Africa.

Work with experienced creative professionals to strengthen your concept and prepare your pitch.
FAME Week Africa Access
Experience one of Africa's leading creative industry gatherings and connect with professionals working across film, television and content.
A Live Pitch Opportunity
Take to the stage at FAME Week Africa and present your idea in front of industry professionals.
The Chance to Win an SAE Institute Bursary (Terms and Conditions apply)
One winner will receive a bursary to study at SAE Institute Cape Town in 2027.
