1. Promoter
The FAME Week Africa Micro Drama Pitching Competition ("the Competition") is
presented by FAME Week Africa, an event owned and organised by RX Africa (Pty) Ltd, in
partnership with Story Oasis and Media Valley ("the Prize Partners").
By entering the Competition, entrants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
2. Eligibility
2.1 The Competition is open to individuals or teams residing in Africa.
2.2 Entries may be submitted by an individual or by a team. Where a team is selected as the winner, the prize applies to a maximum of two (2) team members.
2.3 Entrants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of entry.
2.4 Employees of RX Africa, FAME Week Africa, Story Oasis, Media Valley and their immediate family members may not enter.
3. Submission Requirements
Each submission must include:
• A two-page concept document
• A five-page pitch deck
• Team biographies
• Statement of intent
Incomplete submissions may be disqualified.
4. Competition Process
4.1 Entries will be reviewed by an independent judging panel.
4.2 Between six (6) and eight (8) finalists will be selected.
4.3 Finalists will be invited to pitch their project live during FAME Week Africa 2026 in Cape Town.
4.4 The judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
5. Finalists' Attendance
5.1 All finalists must attend FAME Week Africa 2026 in person to participate in the live pitching session.
5.2. FAME Week Africa will provide complimentary event accreditation for the finalists to attend the event and a list of discounted accommodated rates for the finalists. FAME Week Africa will also provide a letter of invite to finalists to aid in their application for funding to local film bodies and funders.
5.3 Finalists are solely responsible for arranging and covering the cost of:
• Flights
• Accommodation
• Ground transportation
• Visas (where applicable)
• Travel insurance
• Meals and incidental expenses
5.4 Failure to attend the live pitching session may result in disqualification.
6. Finalist Benefits
In addition to pitching their projects before leading industry professionals, all finalists will receive a range of valuable industry opportunities designed to accelerate their careers.
6.1 ConnectMe Access Finalists will receive complimentary access to ConnectMe, FAME Week Africa's official business matchmaking platform. ConnectMe enables delegates to search for industry professionals, schedule one-on-one meetings before and during the event, and build meaningful business relationships with producers, broadcasters, streamers, distributors, investors, commissioners and fellow creatives from across Africa and around the world.
6.2 Curated Networking Opportunities Finalists will be invited to attend selected networking events and receptions during FAME Week Africa, providing direct access to key decision-makers and potential collaborators from across the African and international screen industries.
6.3 Industry Recognition To further raise their profile, all finalists will be featured across FAME Week Africa's social media platforms and profiled in a dedicated LinkedIn article introducing the finalists and their projects.
7. Prize
The winning project will receive development, production and post- production support provided
by the Prize Partners, including:
• Story development support from reputable story consultants comprising of a 2 hour consult, written forensic notes on story and guidance on the micro drama story structure.
• Media Valley’s 450m sqm Sound Stage booking for one full day, including lights and the Media Valley LED Volume, as well as video editing facilities which will include a video editor for their micro drama, at dates that are suitable to all parties.
• A one year WGSA membership for the winning team/company or individual
The exact scope of the support shall be determined by the Prize Partners.
No cash alternative will be offered.
8. Prize Conditions
8.1 The prize is not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash.
8.2 The prize may not be sold, assigned or transferred to another individual or organisation.
8.3 Any taxes, personal expenses or additional costs associated with accepting or using the prize
remain the sole responsibility of the winner.
8.4 All prizes that are won are subject to to availability of sponsor
9. Prize Fulfilment
9.1 The prize is provided exclusively by Story Oasis and Media Valley
9.2 RX Africa (Pty) Ltd and FAME Week Africa are not the providers of the prize and accept no responsibility whatsoever for the delivery, administration, quality,
availability or fulfilment of any element of the prize.
9.3 Any questions, disputes, delays, changes or claims relating to the prize must be directed to the relevant Prize Partner.
9.4 Should any Prize Partner be unable to provide any element of the prize for any reason, RX Africa and FAME Week Africa, and the other Prize Partners, shall not be held liable.
10. Agreements with Prize Partners
10.1 The winning entrant(s) acknowledge that acceptance of the prize will require them to enter into separate agreements with the relevant Prize Partners.
10.2 The winner(s) will be required to sign any agreements reasonably required by:
• Media Valley
• Story Oasis
before any prize components commence.
10.3 These agreements will govern matters including, but not limited to:
• Development process
• Studio availability, usage, and video post production arrangements
• Editorial support
• Intellectual property
• Deliverables
• Production timelines
• Rights and obligations of the parties
10.4 The winner agrees to be bound by the terms and conditions contained in those agreements.
10.5 Failure to enter into any required agreement within the timeframe specified by the relevant Prize Partner may result in forfeiture of the prize.
11. Intellectual Property
Entrants retain ownership of their original intellectual property submitted as part of the Competition.
By entering, entrants grant RX Africa, FAME Week Africa and the Prize Partners a non-exclusive licence to review, assess and evaluate the submission solely for the purposes of administering the Competition.
No rights in the submitted concept shall transfer unless separately agreed in writing.
12. Publicity
Entrants agree that RX Africa, FAME Week Africa and the Prize Partners may use:
• Names
• Photographs
• Company names
• Project titles
• Images and video captured during the Competition
The footage from their micro dramas, related to the Competition, may be used for marketing and publicity purposes, without additional compensation.
13. Right to Amend or Cancel
RX Africa and the Prize Partners reserve the right to amend, suspend or cancel the Competition if circumstances beyond its reasonable control make this necessary.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
• RX Africa (Pty) Ltd;
• FAME Week Africa;
• The Prize Partners;
• their employees, directors, contractors and agents
shall not be liable for any loss, damage, injury, expense, delay or claim arising from:
• participation in the Competition;
• attendance at FAME Week Africa;
• acceptance or use of the prize;
• cancellation or alteration of any prize element;
• any act or omission of Story Oasis, Media Valley or any third-party supplier.
The winner accepts the prize entirely at their own risk.
15. General
14.1 Submission of an entry constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
14.2 The judges' decision is final.
14.3 No correspondence will be entered into regarding the judging process.
14.4 These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
Important Notice
RX Africa (Pty) Ltd and FAME Week Africa act solely as the organisers and promoters of the Competition. The development support, production support, mentorship and all other prize elements are provided entirely by Story Oasis and Media Valley. No party shall accept responsibility or liability for the delivery, quality, administration or fulfilment of any prize component, all of which remain the sole responsibility of the respective Prize Partners.
