MEET THE YOGA TEACHERS

MEET THE YOGA TEACHERS

NTSIMEDI GWANGWA
Rooted in a long connection to movement through ballet, Ntsimedi is a certified RYT200 yoga teacher who guides practices that invite you to connect with your breath, drop out of your head and into your body. Her approach blends yoga, meditation, intuitive movement, breathwork, and sound therapy into a deeply grounding and restorative experience. She has integrated Tibetan singing bowls into her sessions to enrich the meditative and healing elements of practice. Ntsimedi also holds an Honours degree in Theatre and Performance from the University of Cape Town, bringing presence, depth, and sensitivity to the spaces she facilitates. As an actress emerging in the film industry she understands the importance of creating a strong mind-body connection to encourage sustainability, emotional and physical wellness.

ELAINE SEIDEL
Elaine has been a yoga practioner for 30 years, teaching for 15 years. She started practicing yoga at the same time she started working in film, as a Specialised set painter. During her film jobs, she completed 4 Yoga Teacher Trainings, both locally and internationally. Film taught her about effective business efficiency and endurance whilst Yoga taught her patience and calm. Her yoga style is fusion vinyasa, Inspired by the precision and alignment of Iyengar, the strength, core connection physically and emotionally of Forrest yoga; the anatomical understanding of safe, healthy practice of the spine through Synergy Yoga, culminating in the grace and fluidity of Vinyasa. Elaine hosts a YouTube channel with an informal talk show of speakers sharing stories, health skills, and accessible yoga to support everyone in better movement and management of their bodies.

LEN-BARRY SIMONS
Len-Barry was introduced to yoga through theatre and performing training at the University of Stellenbosch. Tightly knitted into the physical theatre leg of the course was the necessity to explore the physicality and internal environment of the human body. After graduating in 2015, he completed both RYT200 and RYT300 yoga teacher training at The Shala. Len-Barry encourages his students to be curious not only about the external expression of the asanas/postures, but also the relationship between mind and body, how we can use the practice of yoga to shift our internal reality and energy states As an actor in both theatre and film, Len-Barry recently appeared in the internationally acclaimed feature film, “One Piece” season 1 and recently worked under the direction of Sylvaine Strike for this year’s The Tempest at Maynardville in Cape Town.

SHEONA MITCHLEY
Before becoming a yoga teacher, Sheona worked as an Art Director on feature films, commercials and television projects, relying on yoga and mindfulness to stay grounded in the fast-paced world of production. After moving to Cape Town and starting a family, she deepened her practice, earning her RYT-500 Vinyasa certification, along with Advanced Forrest Yoga, Yin and Restorative Yoga training. Sheona’s teaching blends mindful movement, breathwork and meditation to support resilience, balance and self-connection - tools she knows are invaluable in high-pressure creative environments. She continues her love of storytelling through filmmaking, with her own short film 'Discarded; being showcased at The FAME Shorts Film Festival 2025. The documentary follows a charismatic street recycler who navigates the harsh realities of Jozi’s streets, balancing survival, identity and family ties. Through his journey, the film explores the fragility of life and the strength of the human spirit in the face of adversity. The film screening is on 6th September 12pm at The Labia Theatre.
