WOMEN IN FILM + TV MORNING

Join in on. the discussions on Friday, 25 August 2022, at 10h00 to 12h00 in the MIP Africa theatre

The future of film is African-women led. Here's why..

In most African countries, a patriarchy that views women primarily as homemakers and caregivers is firmly entrenched. Despite this, over the past decade, many dynamic, African and African diaspora women, have and continue to redefine the film and television industry.

This shift has been instrumental in giving women more financial muscle in an industry where they have long been economically marginalised. It’s also changing the stories that are being told on screen as female creators offer fresh takes on what it means to be an African woman today.

Join our industry trailblazers as they discuss social, ethical and professional issues surrounding women in the film and television industry.

Never underestimate the power of a conversation. It may be the spark that ignites a creative revolution.
